COME BE APART OF OUR $1+ MILLION CHARITY EVENT

YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT!!

This year the OCAA is having our 23rd Annual Central Day of Service.  Last year we hit $1,000,000 in donated tree work to nonprofit organizations within our community and we want to keep up the great work!

This year the Central Day of Service is being held on Thursday May 2, 2019 at Parkwood National Historic Site in Oshawa. Come out and help take care of a piece of National history, something you and your team can be truly proud of.

Our skilled teams will be completing a variety of arboriculture services including on some very old trees.

We Need Your Help!  This site has it everything except access!

Equipment Required

2 Chipper truck & chipper
1 Smaller 10”-12” chipper
2 Tracked aerial lifts
1 Self-propelled stump grinders
A bunch of mini-skid steers

Tools

1 Chainsaw 24” bar with sacrificial chain
Hand Carts to move wood
1 Telescopic Chainsaw
Bolt cutters

Personnel Required

Climbers
Grounds Persons
1 Cabling & climbing crew
1 Cabling, bolting & climbing crew
4 Area Supervisors

This is a 102 year old, very well treed National Historic Site that is approximately 12 acres in size in downtown Oshawa.  Due to the established nature of the site combined with hardscaping, vehicle access to most of the trees is very difficult.  It is full of fun climbs in some very old trees.  Mini skid steers and tracked aerial lifts will play a key roll in completing the project due to its limited access.

We invite vendors the media and arborist alike to partake in this incredible event that will truly make history.  Make sure you do something special this spring with your team show them new techniques new equipment and what our industry is really all about.
